Foundry industry like all other industries has been facing a challenging time since the beginning of the pandemic. I am sure you are keeping your spirit high when we all are anxiously waiting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I have selected a theme and logo “UNITED FOUNDRYMEN, UNITED INDIA”, for all of us to work towards and thus to contribute towards the rapid growth of the nation.

India has emerged as a manufacturing hub for cast components with production around ten millions ton. There is a rise in the overall demand in auto, tractors, infrastructure, railways, power sector and in the coming years India is expected to touch 15 million tons.With its large pool of scientific and technical manpower, India is poised to scale the new peaks.

The Institute of Indian Foundrymen(-IIF) an apex body of Indian Foundry Industry has a common objective to promote and develop the foundry industry and assist in its growth.

Following activities are planned during my tenure, keeping in mind, the overall growth of the industry:

E learning through CET and NCTS, IFEX at alternate years, Physically and virtually, Pricing Index of IIF, Representing burning issues through Policy advocacy committee, To find solution of Raw material crisis, Develop relations with AFS, WFO, BRICS and other foundry associations, International delegations and study tours, Procuring Educational Foundry Processes, Increase Membership base.

I would like to congratulate the team of Western Region and its leadership for taking up the challenge in these hard times to organise 70th Indian Foundry Congress and IFEX. As of this writing, 0pct space in IFEX is already booked which shows sincere and meticulous efforts made by the team. First time exhibitors and delegates are assured of full refund in case the event is cancelled due to the pandemic. On behalf of the organising committee of 70th India Foundry Congress, we welcome you all to the IFEX and Cast India Expo 2022. You will be glad to know that both these exhibitions are spread over 18,000 Sqm, with more than 200 exhibitors thus making it largest amongst annual Foundry congresses held so far.

Foreign Companies could not participate this time, but still the size of the IFEX is same as in recent years.

Originally this event was planned at Mumbai but shifted to Ahmedabad due to Pandemic. Overwhelming booking Shows the positive mood of the industry.

This time M/S K & D communication Ltd. is the organiser of the IFEX. They are very experienced organiser, doing shows like Vibrant Gujarat, Engimech, etc. They have assured good foot falls and services to the Exhibitors.

For Western Region & Ahmedabad have taken challenge in the most difficult time.
